Writing and Editing

Minerva Magazine

Minerva is an award-winning online magazine by girl geeks, for girl geeks. Although it hasn’t been updated in some time, it was a fun passion project. It started off as a grad school project and evolved into something more when my classmates and I decided we were so in love with it that we wanted to continue after the class was done. In addition to providing web design and editing articles, I also contributed as a writer. I wrote about topics ranging from gender issues in the media to drinking games to cosplay. I also co-hosted a Shakespeare podcast because I am a total nerd (as if that weren’t apparent already).

Words Apart

I was involved with the literary magazine, Words Apart, while I was in grad school, first serving as a fiction editor and then as the managing editor and head copyeditor. Words Apart was Emerson’s only literary magazine centered on social issues and also the only organization that allowed both undergraduate and graduate students to join. I also wrote a feature article about autism and mental illness.
